    Balls

I judge a ball most on how I like them on the greens and then how much I like them with other shots. Not averse to trying different balls but I’ll never change it during a round, and normally not for a few rounds. It’s the only constant on every single shot you hit and as much as people say...

    LIV Golf

I went yesterday. Most of the crowd seemed to be following the Bryson, Rahm, Smith group and as a consequence, the rest of the course seemed really quiet, which I didn’t mind at all (and still managed to catch that group a few times). Not really got into LIV, I went as I got free tickets. A few...

    The Open 2025.

I thought he won it on the greens tbh, his putting was immense.

    The Open 2025.

Only in terms of winning majors, he’s kept his form through really, personally I think it’s the most impressive thing about him - he’s kept being a challenger at the very top and had very few bad years compared to his peers.

    Laughter - the best medicine

Just having a drink and a chat with a bloke in my local last night. I discovered he was worth around £2 million and he told me the amazing story of how he got so rich. Basically when he left school he had little or no formal qualifications but he was good with his hands and he knew how to...

The ooh, that's a daft score thread

Yep I think people forget just how much peoples scores can fluctuate, particularly in the double digit handicap bracket. It’s partly why I’d like to see less penalty strokes in golf in general.

    Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

You’d have thought just stop oil would have targeted Liv more than the PGA!

    US Open 2024

Really enjoyed it but the one thing was going into the waste area didn’t seem like enough of a penalty to me.

    US Open 2024

Think it’s more likely he shoots low on a Sunday from down the field.

    US Open 2024

This is tense past the point of being enjoyable!

Does Golf Need a New Dominant Figure?

It’d need to be someone more interesting that Scheffler.

    US Masters 2024

Think it just showed to me that the top elite level of golf really isn’t big enough to justify two different tours, both products are devalued.

    US Masters 2024

I really don’t know what it is as he’s clearly a very very nice guy and he plays absolutely stunning golf but I just can’t warm to Scheffler.

    Slow play again

I only rejoined as a member of a course a couple of years ago after a thirty year break from being a member. Not sure if it’s the same everywhere but one thing I noticed was when I joined thirty years ago, there was mandatory golf etiquette training covering a lot of different areas that anyone...
