Your thoughts on this please?

Thinking about it the other way round though, the course might have been fine on the Saturday with no temps but then an awful frost Saturday night means that there are a few temps Sunday. I don't see what you could do about that.

Course should be the same both days. However Region's point is a good one. In that case if they couldn't keep the course the same on Sunday what would they do? That particular round should in fairness be declared null and void and not count towards the trophy. If that isn't possible due to the nature of the comp then I guess you have to live with it a bit like when the weather changes during the Open. Does seem odd though to change the course when it wasn't actually necessary to do so.

When stuff like this happens I just tend to think at the end of the day it's only a golf comp. There's worse injustices in the world.

And so it continues..............

Played yesterday and today.

Today some of the tee marker positions have been shifted from yesterdays. Not just a foot or two but a fair bit and on 1 hole,a short par 3, the angle of attack is totally different to yesterdays.

Total and utter joke in my opinion.

Next week my preferred lie will be withing 5 yards of the ball....may as well as it appears you can just do what you wish.

Is your blood boiling yet? Welcome to my world. I just don't get why knobs run courses.... but hey-ho ... as lot as there's a pot of tea and a tea-cake all is well :D:whistle:

Justone,I just can't fathom out what is going on here.I await an answer to why this is happening and if, as I think will happen,it is swept under the carpet then I'll demand you are put in charge.:smirk:

That should have read...

but hey-ho ... as long as there's a pot of tea and a tea-cake all is well :D:whistle:

Played my course the other day, well I say played but that's a very loose description, 17 temps for NO reason and some mats out, tees not cut, some bunkers were frankly shocking and a new tee that is under construction is taking more time than building an entire feckin' course....

....put me in charge Dodger and it would be like golfing heaven :D

I love the game for sure but don't know why we put up with this *** when it actually comes to the course or the running of the place. Idiots in charge is all I can think of.. most of them couldn't run a frikkin' tap!

Alan i asked a question about something like this some time back , i think it was titled "Unfair or even allowed" this happens regulary in our gaf for the 13 hole winter league , could be full course one day & all temps the next day ,or vice versa, if the temps come on then the tees are moved back a bit , it wrecks my head mate , esp as there is a league thing running , but i learned to just accept it & be glad to play & just use it to keep swinging over the winter , sickening feeling as ya drive up & see the flag on the temp on the 9th green tho..

Dodger,

I assume you never got an answer to the questions raised about moving the greens off of temps nad back onto the full ones on day two and whether the scores and comp should stand. Are the green staff doing this under their own volition or is this coming from the club. If its the greenstaff then they need a good old fashioned b********g and taught the rules of competition play. they may have done it thinking they were helping to protect the tees by moving them to stop damage through too much damage but they need to know it can't be done in the middle of a comp.

If its coming from within the club then you need to get rid of these jokers as they have no idea how to run things. I assume you'll keep us abreast of any outcome unless it is swept under the carpet and ignored
