Thought I would put together my ideal band to watch live. These are by no means the most proficient in their separate fields, but simply a collection of individuals that would be mesmerizing to watch on stage.
Singer/guitarist/harmonica – Howlin’ Wolf. – Arguably the greatest exponent of American Blues, but inarguably its greatest voice and showman.
Lead guitar/vocals – John Martyn – nothing is beyond him, and such an imaginative songwriter. Hard as nails, as well.
Rhythm guitar/vocals – David Gedge – (from The Wedding Present) instantly recognizable, and another brilliant songwriter.
Bass – Norman Watt-Roy – Simply, along with Jack Bruce maybe, top of his field.
Drums – Karl Burns – (from The Fall) – mesmerizing to watch, with that hint of insanity that exits with many great artists
Keyboards/Vocals – Tori Amos - mesmerizing to watch, with that hint of insanity that exits with many great artists, but also a brilliant songwriter.
Over to you…….
