Mine would be a "ranch style" holiday in Wyoming, South Dakota, Nevada, that sort of thing.
I am a big fan of John Wayne and would love to visit some of the places where his greatest films were shot. The scenery is stunning, and the thought of sleeping out under the stars and riding across some of the "big country" really appeals to me, despite the fact I am worse at horse riding than I am at golf....
I'd love to do it before I pop my clogs.
What would your dream holiday be?

I've got a few...

I'd love to do Route 66 on a Harley.

I'd love to tour Australia and New Zealand.

I'd love a golfing holiday in Scotland playing the famous courses and the not so famous courses.

Disneyland, Florida with the kids.

I'd love to hire a villa in Italy and go with my family and my parents.

One day Smiffy, one day...

A week or 2 in Canada/USA in a log cabin attached to a golf complex carved out of a forest with lakes and mountains where you could walk to the first tee and back from the bar :)

Australia, including a lot of golf and watching England retain the Ashes. Got relatives in Melbourne, so one day. Think they are lenient on convicts as well, so i should be ok. ;)

You've got me Smiffy.

Best I can come up with just now is a 2-week vacation to Mission Hills with some Czech models of dubious morals. :)

I'm gonna curl up on the settee and watch True Grit again tonight. Followed by The Shootist, The Searchers and The Cowboys.
I loved John Wayne.

You do that...enjoy... :)

I shall see what Mr Lovefilm has dropped through my letter box. I doubt it'll star any Czech models though... :o

Did you find True Grit then? :D

The DVD of the original version Bob.
The Blu ray of the new version is still on order. I wasn't going to buy it but reading the reviews it's supposed to be a cracking film. But it still won't beat the original.
Like Jaws. Another belting film and it's the one that I hope they never remake.
Robert Shaw WAS Quint. Richard Dreyfuss WAS Hooper. And Roy Scheider WAS police chief Brodie.
They'll never make it again.
Hopefully.

* A trip around Namibia.
* A week in the Maldives. (Hoping to do next year)
* A US and Canada road trip.
* Disney World holiday. (Going July 2011)

For me, I'd love to head over to the USA and go from new york across to Vegas then down to California via San Francisco and take on the sights and play a lot of golf while there.

Fixed it for you! :D

Start with a round of golf at Highland links, Nova Scotia, then a drive down the Cabot trail and across Canada to Quebec, then Montreal, Toronto and Niagra. -one day.......

I would love to drive across Canada in a massive winnebago. Start on the East Coast & take my time crossing the Rockies, ending up in Vancouver.

or maybe a cottage on a Scottish Island the more remote the better

I drove a fair bit of that trail about 3 years ago but have to say that the Rockies were a better drive from Banff/Jaspers to Vancouver and Whistler. Niagra was fabulous though!
