The last time I had a cut in my handicap was at the last review in March last year (from 25.8 to 24.8) since then I have played quite a number of competitions but haven't had a reduction and my h/c has moved up slightly to its present 25.3.

On Sunday I played in our Past Captains Competition which is played in the unusual format of bogie. Any way I came in with a figure of +4 which on the day still wasn't quite good enough and got beat on countback. On a normal strokeplay or stableford day I would have probably won as I racked up a tremendous score with four, 4 pointers but they only counted as a hole won.

Well I have been cut from 25.3 to 24.1. Not a big cut technically (1 stroke) but finally I am moving in the right direction. And I am over the moon.

Good news to all those forum members heading towards Redlibbets next week. The mask might have been slightly removed, but you still can not make out his face.

congrats fred well played always good to hear..ive gone 9.2 9.3 9.4 d last couple of weeks badly need to stop the rot this week .. keep it up mate well done

Nice one mate.

Really eager to get my handicap cards handed in and the rounds can't come round soon enough! It's only been 7 years since I had an active handicap!

I think it is not a bad format, and makes a change from medal and stableford. Makes you use your brain, knowing what you need to score before you play the hole. Last one i played i was two under handicap, but lost by a hole. :D :D :D ;) Every time i had two putts to win, and tried to lag up, i ended up holing the putt.

Thanks guys.

In truth I probably should have won it as i had eight holes under par and four above, including a silly 3 putt from 12 foot. But do I care, nah :D :D
