I've been looking to change putters for awhile as no putts feel solid, in fact it's more of a clunk from the face. First thoughts were a scotty, but YES suddenly came into my radar especially as they custom fit, anyone got one? Recommend one? And anyone done the custom route?

Some will say persevere and practice- I have this whole season so far and it's wildly inconsistent, ie
78 today with 39 putts
76 last wed with 37 putts
Etc etc etc, haven't done less than 34 putts this year

Only issue I had with the Marilyn I had was I had trouble getting a consistent ball speed off the face. Every once in a while the ball would just explode off the face and at other times not go anywhere. I'm sure it was down to me and not the putter but its something I generally don't suffer from.

Nikon I don't want to state the obvious but how much time do you put into your putting and do you do any drills. How far are you hitting it from the hole on your approach shots, how far away are your 3 putts coming from on average. How close are you hitting it from within 20yds of the green when you miss the green and you up and down rates from this distances? A new putter may just change your mindset for the better, that coupled with precise practice can turn it around.

Hi Jason,
I don't spend enough or any time on drills but mostly due to they are all still clunky putts plus I change everything to try and get a solid sweet spot connection ie back foot/front foot/further away/closer/hands high/low/toe up/wristy/not wristy blah blah blah

It's not that I misread a putt, it can be 10 feet short or 10 feet past on lags, 7 footers can miss by a foot either side so from 20yds the chips are avg 5 feet which is poor but the putts dont even threaten the hole from that distance- I used to think I could hole anything and expected to, maybe a proper fitted well balanced putter that suits my swing is the way to go............maybe?

I was custom fit 2 years ago and it was fine. The problem was it rusted or showed signs of rust all the way down the shaft and looked a mess. Just changed for a wolverine

Nikon from what you are saying I would go see a local pro who has a good reputation with teaching putting and get a lesson from him, he will get you into a consistent setup and then you can go ahead getting setup but if your fundamentals aren't consistent you are realistically wasting your money getting fitted.
