My elder child has managed to get water into his Xbox one and it's fried.
We have a replacement now but my query is if I sell the old damaged one for parts, what kind of linked Xbox live credit card info could there be on the hard drive of the console, if any? Unsure what gets stored locally and what's on a remote server.
Should I remove the hard drive beforehand? Don't really want to get into that, not as easy accessed as a laptop harddrive I dont think. Don't know much about Xboxes except how much the kids spend on them?.
Seems like an easy £40 just sitting there.
Thanks.

I'm not sure if your details are stored on the hard or on the account online. I know when I had to reset mine a few months ago it lost all log in details.
Not helpful at all that ?
I'd try a Google search and find some gaming forums or Reddit answers, I'm sure the same question must have been posed somewhere.

Depends on how security was set up with regards to logging in and purchases.

Xbox encourages you to automate logins which might make it easier to access an account If it were just popped into another XBox.
