When I carry I only have about 5 or 6 clubs in the bag so there would be a lot of wasted space.

Looks ok on the course on a sunny day, maybe it saves weight? I'd love to see him travelling with it, loading it into the boot and watching all the clubs fall out, or at the airport watching the clubs come round one by one on the baggage carousel.
