Our 12 year old Shih tzu has lost 1.1 kilos since March, she's still eating well, but now only weighs 4.7 kilos.
Booked in for some xrays and a sedated examination tomorrow :cautious::( fingers crossed.

They aren’t with us for a long time so cherish all the time you get. Don’t dwell on poor health if they are still full of energy.
Hopefully she’s all good.

eating well but losing weight could be Diabetes? I'm sure they'll check blood sugar.

We had this with baldrick for a while and it was the high protein food, switched and it was sorted.

not saying this could be it, as comp diff size of dog and breed

Just back from the Vets £280 lighter, bad news is the X-ray shows she has some kind mass that looks about the size of an apple, next to and possibly attached her Spleen.
Her heart is slightly enlarged, liver enzyme levels elevated , low white blood cell count.

We'll decide what happens next Tuesday, after she's been on various medications for a week, hopefully to slow it down a bit.

ATM she's still lively and has a good quality of life with no symptoms showing and still eating like a wee horse.

An operation at her age would be touch and go and they really wouldn't know if the mass has spread to other organs till they actually operated.
The wife is devastated it's her baby
