Ok Just check out your allegiance:Which do you prefer

The option is between England winning the World Cup and

eg

If a Burnley Fan -Avoid Relegation
Chelsea - Champions League win
Liverpool- Premiership

Rangers- last 8 Champions League

Leicester
Promotion to Premier League

Everton Premier League

These are just a few examples. Where I am coming from is is it your own Club or Country? It is obvious what the players' think

World Cup - no question.
Even above Wycombe Wanderers getting into the Premier League and beating Barca in the Champions League final.

Club for me too.

Inverness Caley Thistle - just managed to scrape back into SPL so all thoughts are with my diddie team from chuchter land.

The big plus for us is our manager BIG TERRY BUTCHER - the one and only!!

He is no longer English OR Scottish ...he is Invernessian and proud of it!

Why so?

I can't see Lennon being appointed after some of his comments!

I'd love to say country before club, and would always have done down the years, but....

Im 32 and progressively since '96 the England players, mainly, appear less and less interested. I remember the brillaint effort we put in in 1990 and the thrills of euro 96 now seem a distant memory.

My Uni dissertation was looking at the PL white paper and reviewing success measures....the main POINT to the introduction of the PL was SUPPOSED to be a more successful national team. Obviously the suspicion at the time was to increase revenues and fend off a power struggle and a potential break away led by some clubs (the thinking being a euro superleage may develope at some stage...)

These days, i think i'd rather see Utd win the European cup. At least the players appear to really care and make an effort. Perhaps they are running scared of SAF!

It's really not how it should be though, and i accept that. Further, generally i'm finding football less and less interetsing at all.
