I am just asking a quick question of you guys/gals!

I am hitting every club in my bag perfect but my 3 wood just no I never have I've had a lesson with it to still no avail.

Its nike sq dymo 3 wood any ideas on a better/more forgiving wood???

Thanks mono!

Never ever say you are hitting the ball perfect, itll bite you in the arse!
With regards to the 3 wood, practice. What is happening, is it the same thing each time. Do you still have the mad Fisherman casting action in that swing of yours?

I have a 2009 dymo2 (square) 3 wood.

It's forgiving, it's quite straight, but it's not a great club in some respects.

Is yours the same. Reg AXIV shaft?

I love it one day and hate it the next.....

Brilliant :)

Handicap Movement for this year: 28 > 12

Aaah, not so perfest then.....unless that 3wood is costing you 12 shots per round of course ;)

I just went and shot 8 over gross in that weather today! And the problems mainly came from my 3 wood! I should be off lower than 12 but im unable to play in most comps due to work commitments!

8 over, great scoring.....but a long way from perfect!!??

How many "perfect" shots would you say you hit during a round?? On the button, trajectory as planned, shaped as planned...exactly what you wanted.

If I wanted everything I wanted I'd go round in 18 shots. But seriously I haven't ever played aswell as I currently am striking it so well the ball stopping when I want just playing very well.

But seriously do you know of a forgiving 3 wood???

Sorry Mono, not picking on you. It was something I was thinking about whilst catching up on a load of threads tonight. Lots of people saying "Im a very good/long/ straight driver/ putter/ chipper" etc. Made me wonder what they compare that to??

Serious question: "How many perfect shots would you say you hit when playin today?"

Oh, Ping G10 btw.

Not many.

(whoops, it's not my thread)

t.b.h. if it's a dymo2 you can't buy a more forgiving 3 wood.

I took mine to the range on Sunday and I had to hit a 2nd bucket (40 balls) until I could get the b****** thing to draw.

....

Erm, unsure on perfect like but how I liked to my satisfaction about 55!

Good shooting!! A famous pro (Lee Trevino I think) reckoned he hit about 4 or 5 shots per round that he was 100% satisfied with!!

He obviously had higher standards than an amature!

It's all relative. He would have higher expectations of the outcome as well.

I reckon I hit 7 shots exactly how I wanted in my last round (6 over par 76).

As I said Mono, not aimed directly at you, just interested.

Found it!!

Ben Hogan said it right. He said, 'If I hit one or two perfect shots in a round of golf - perfect shots - I've played a good round of golf

Ive found the taylor made burner woods really forgiving. If me and my driver had a mid round arguement, it goes back in the back and i recover the card with my 3 wood. its bang on i just cant hit it from the deck, but ive never been able to hit a 3 wood from the deck so its nothing to do with the club. Ive noticed its not quite as long as my old 3 wood (taylor made super steel) but alot more forgiving.

This is what im using & currently just above £30.00
