Anyone playing in this? Looks like 4 good courses and a good excuse for a few days away. Stableford format is appealing over 4 days on 4 courses I have never played when the inevitable blowout holes will come.

It's a very appealing event played royal Liverpool last year was great, just a shame HID doesn't agree and I haven't got a spare weeks hols unless they pick my lottery numbers out! :)

Yeah the tournament price is pretty cheap at £219 for 4 rounds at those courses but the accommodation cost will bring it up a lot. I am hoping to sell it as a romantic weekend away haha. Hopefully something for females to entertain themselves with - might have to buy her a few good books!

Have toyed with this as HID's Ma and Pa live up there so accomodation wouldn't cost. You get a rest day so it's 4 rounds over 5 days I believe...
And Yes, the courses are nice..

Stupid question, but I assume that cards from these things are returned to home club? I haven't played in any away comps in UK yet

I played in it last year. The courses are good and it's well run. I actually enjoyed Royal Liverpool the least. The whole competition is not for shorter hitters. My mate and I struggled badly with our 220 straight down the middle drives when the wind was up and realised quickly we stood no chance. I played with the overall winner in the last round. It was quite enlightening.

me and my pal thinking of going if adam scott wins todays,as he has backed him, my only trouble is days off left at work,
found a new holiday inn at hoylake 43pound a night for 2 with breakfast, so around 300 for the trip

I've got my entry in - looking forward to playing what looks like 4 good tracks. Stupid question, but I assume that cards from these will be recorded for handicapping?
