A few days ago I installed the latest windows updates, no problem.
Post installation my laptop has been running very slowly, so I uninstalled the updates.
Machine now running fine but Windows updates are pending ........................ obviously.
The updates I installed and subsequently uninstalled included security updates,
My question is this : If I install the updates, again, will it necessarily slow my machine down again?

Thanks experts,
Slime.

Windows 10 or 11?
I installed 10 updates a couple of days ago and no change in performance.

Ironically, another update has just arrived.
I've just installed it ans all seems well!
Maybe that update was to correct the issues from the previous one.

Probably been a hardware conflict that's affected users of the same hardware, been reported and resolved.

Happens more often than you'd probably think but at least it's better than the old days where updates would introduce things like memory leaks or downclocking of GPU hardware (Windows Millenium Edition was the worst for it).

I have this problem a lot with Win 10 updates lately.

I put it down the antivirus updates at one time.

I even uninstalled Adobe as that kept freezing, annoyingly it will not now reinstall

......................... and now there's something else, but not related.
The sheer volume of duplicated photos I have is mind boggling.
No idea how it's happened, but some of my photos have six copies!!
They're all in a place called 'Gallery' and deleting them one by one will take forever.
I need a simple to use method to delete them ........................................ please.
😘

You’ll need a third party tool. Windows hasn’t come with a native duplicate file finder since about Vista.

Look for a free duplicate file finder. I've used one by auslogicss(?) but there are likely several available.
