Who's going down from the most over rated league in the world?

Newcastle have a fantastic following, but they are hardly setting the world alight!!!

To compare Newcastle to either Celtc or Rangers is to truly not appreciate how big both Glasgow teams are.Only Man Utd an Liverpool are larger football clubs in England.Allow them access to The EPL and 5 years, they'd both challenge ( especially Celtc imo)

2 german teams,3 italian,2 spanish,2 english then celtc for worldwide support and potential bargaining power with TV companies.

The EPL is going to be worth upwards of £60m per team next season, with that in mind and that kind of cash available do you reckon any other scottish team would do well? Aberdeen/Hearts for instance?

Nope. Hearts are fighting to stay afloat and Aberdeen are only just servicing a 9 million overdraft. Stewart Milne has personally guaranteed Aberdeen's debt so I guess that's something.

Hmm ok, I just ask because I always feel that when this argument is raised its always the two glasgow teams that are mentioned and I just think that if those resources were available to a club like Aberdeen thrn they might get relative success. £60m+ per season a one city team then they might grow. Id personally love to see a Scotland/England/wales lge I see no reason why wouldnt work logistically and think that it would add a lot more once everyone was up to scratch. Obv the fa would need there independence for intls etc but geographically certainly no issue.

When you think about it logistics shouldn't matter. There are much larger country's than the British isles so introducing the scots, welsh and n'irish into our system shouldn't be effected because of travel arrangements

Indeed, if you took say, Ross County vs Southampton (as the two furthest apart "top tier" teams I could think of, then this is still a shorter distance that, in Spain, Malaga fans travel to Gijon (630ish miles) at around 590 miles. And travel they do. In France Marseile fans have a trek and a half to get to Le Harve.

With Cardiff looking that they might join Swansea next year should the EPL not become the E&WPL.
Can't be that tough a league if a couple of Welsh sides can qualify.

Rangers and Celtic would add huge value to the E&WPL anyone who thinks otherwise does not get out much.

Its not called the English Premier League, its the Barclays Premier League - no need for a name change.

I think having Celtic in the Premier League makes a lot of sense but isn't it a bit presumptious to say that the 3rd Div club should be there because they're a big club. Surely they need to qualify via the SPL before they would be eligible. After all, its the performance on the pitch that counts, not the size of the crowd and they are only a fledgling club just finding their way in football;).

I am NOT a Rangers fan but anyone who thinks The New Rangers will not be a major football force again does not really understand Scottish football.
Former big teams in England like Leeds, Forrest, Portsmouth, Derby, Bolton etc have all faded away. That would never happen to Rangers and Celtic.

Whether we want it or not, it ain't gonna happen!
Michel & his mates in UEFA have made it perfectly clear that it would jeopardise Champions' League places & the top clubs in England are not prepared to take that risk. End of...........

Agree about Champions' League, within 12 years there will be a European League so the Premier League, in its present form, won't exist. There will be a two division Premier League in England with the current top 4 or 5 clubs in a Euro League. Probably no promotion or relegation from this Euro Moneyball League.
At that stage there might be a possibility of integrating clubs from Scotland.
By the way the Barclay brothers are absolutely nothing to do with the eponymous bank. With its interests these days Barclays would be more likely to wish to involve teams from the Middle East & Asia.

I think a full time euro super league will be here soon. the premiership will get diluted with the likes of Spurs, Everton, Liverpool all fighting for 2nd or 3rd behind whomever gets left out from either Man City or Chelsea (as MU will go euro by default and i see only 2 teams per country)

FIFA need to bring in Salary caps for squads, the money is too crazy, the Rugby world has had caps for some time, but when countries like France dont have them, we lose our best talents (and i cant blame the players!) but if you are going to cap things, it needs to be global.

Naw,of course it wouldn't Doon.

In case it escaped you the club in bold didn't just fade away they died.

Anyhow back to the origional question ....

Fulham badly needed that win so im glad for Homer & Hawkeye that they got it.

I think QPR & Reading are going, Sunderland , Wigan & Villa realy need to get their act together, BUT not sure Southampton have the experience to stay up ,

So its QPR Reading & Southampton i think
