For my fellow whiskey lovers,

I am after something a little special, money no object within the bounds of sensibility.

My stock malts are Talisker, Highland Park and The Macallan to give you an idea of what I like, as for blends I drink Johnnie Walker Black & Blue Label and J & B.

Any recommendations welcome, just fancy a special dram for a special occasion.

Hi..you can't go wrong with a 15yo Glenmorangie or if you can get it some cellar 13 Glenmorangie or if you like something with a lot of peat try coila from the isle of Sky.. :p

Re: !!Re: Whiskey

My regular favourites are Laphroaig and Talisker - which I'll happily knock back by the bucketful. But if you want to try something a bit more "special" you could try one from Royal Lochnagar. Even some of the older ones aren't too pricey for a special occasion

Or one from Lagavulin.

Oh f**k, you've got me drooling now.... Where's the car keys - I need to drive to Scotland. (Oh, you lucky, lucky, people - the home of whisky and golf. What more could you need)

Re: !!Re: Whiskey

Had a bottle of personalised Talisker presented to me some time ago, the whisky may be long gone but I kept the bottle -

A superb blend is an 18 year old Chivas. Very smooth and palatable.

Malt wise; Bruichladdich 15 year old is a strong favourite, another which is slightly less well known which I often find myself pouring into a glass with two lumps of ice is a Glen Dronnach, an Aberdeenshire delight. Scapa is another which gives a fine after taste.
