Which wedge - Vokey or MP R-12

I need a 52 degree wedge to complete my set... I had the idea of getting a Vokey to compliment my current 58* wedge but have been looking at the mizzy ones and quite like them too... Any one any views? I'm thinking of the mizzy route and selling the Vokey and getting a 58 too but it's only 6 weeks old :-s and am not too sure of resale... Ah decisions...

if you like the 58 vokey then go for the 52. I use vokeys in 54 & 58

pop along somewhere and try the feel of the mizzy range

i used to use two different brand wedges and really struggles with inconsistency between the 2.Club weights and lengths being the main issue but also general feel. i honestly think wedges need to be matched. I sold my vokey which i loved, and my TM ZTP and went with MPT-10 wedges. best move i made.

I had a discussion about that with a few people, posted on here as well and went to go try the Mizunos, the Vokeys, the Cleveland and the Pings...its a personal preference, so I cant say which is better for you, but in my personal opinion, if you play Mizuno irons I would say that the gap wedge at least should be a mizuno as well with the same specs shaft, lie etc...so I would defs take a 50 or 52 in Mizuno with the matching specs and then your remaining wedge(s) in something different if you have to.

Ps: If your irons are forged you might have difficulty in going with a cast wedge, from a feel perspective...or not

That's exactly what I fear... Think I'll ditch the Vokey and go mizzy to my specs on my recent fitting... But I do like the back spin I get off the Vokey, makes me look I know how to play the game

FJ, the prob i had was quite weird.

the 52 vokey was around an inch shorter than the 60 TM ZTp - even though bother were fitted with the Wedge flex dynamic gold shaft, and more importantly both new. The head weight was also quite a bit different between the two. these two factors made it hard to get consistency between the two clubs. having matched weight and length has helped.

Yes the fitter pointed that out to me too... Think I'll get the 52 in mizzy and see how I go with the miss matched 58...

100% agree with this.

I took out the standard SW that came with my R7's and replaced it with the XFT, as I already had 2. Same as OS, best move I made for a long time.

I love my Vokey wedges, personal choice but best not to mix and match as others have already said

Having hit them at the Cleveland demo day I'd look at their wedges. Sublimely easy to control and generate spin even with crappy (and for a big resort these really were crap) range balls

I had a Cleveland years ago... bronze, 60* a really beautiful piece of kit, couldn't hit it but a beautiful looking club and looked good in the bag.

Anyway it got nicked when I left my bag in a locker room unattended and I've never used a Cleveland since due to my inability to use that one
