which GPS

I've got a 2.5 as well and can only support what's said above.

The other option to consider is if you have an iPhone or other GPS enabled phone. There is software available that does what the dedicated units do at a fraction of the costs. (<£20 if you already have a suitable phone).

Worth a look. There's a couple of recent threads on those.

Look for GolfShot GPS and Freecaddie seem to be the most popular.

Got one for xmas and I've no had chance to use it... ;)

Same here. This was the one recommended by the pro who stated that this was the best value for money GPS avaiable ! Just a pity I'm never going to get the chance to use it any time soon.

I've been thinking about getting myself a GPS system. The Skycaddie 2.5 seems to be the right one (I think).

Is it 100% waterproof?

How does everyone carry it - Do you keep it in you pocket? Or do you have an attachment on your bag/trolley?

Thanks

Unless they've changed things (which I think they haven't) then no, it's not waterproof. Although my 2.0 hasn't suffered from the occasional shower. I'd not risk it in heavy rain, but you can always put it in a clear plastic bag.

As to fixing, you can get a "belt clip" - mine came supplied with one - although I've never known anyone actually fasten it to their belt. You can use the clip to fix it to any convenient loop on your bag, or the trolley strap - or if there isn't one, get a length of "luggage strap" and fasten it round your bag and clip the caddy to that.

The "belt clip" is OK ish but I would recommend an additional form of restraint just to be sure. I use one of those hand straps that come/came with compact cameras. It's securely looped around the belt clip fixing point on the SC2.5 and then use a spring clip (carabena type) to clip the other loop of the strap onto the bag.
