I had it today....Dunno where it came from but it lasted from the time i tee'd off until i picked up my second ball from the 18th fairway....I scratched 1-4 14 and 18 and managed somehow to get 24 points off the rest...I dont even think god knows how
No matter what i did or tried i just couldnt get comfortable with anything.....No matter what club i picked up it was like i never swung a club in my life....
I was topping,Pulling, slicing, hitting balls off the toes of clubs, skying them hitting them fat and thin...You name it chances are at some stage today i managed to pull it off.

My divots were deep at the outside of them im guessing from the toe of the club digging at impact.

Its very disheartening when this happens and its a first for me and hopefully it'll be the last..... :D

What shut the door completely in my face was topping my pitching wedge from 120mtrs.....
A club iv never topped until today......

Disaster! Its an understatement after the tripe i served up today.

I played 14 on friday after work and played well....
Played in a team of 3 stableford yesterday and played average nothing special....But today i will remember for the rest of my life.

Bloody hell, someone else has lost their Mojo.
Don't worry.
It will come back.
And then go again.
And then come back. Nearly.
And then go again. Completely.
Then you'll write a blog
:D

Try addressing the ball a with a bit more weight on your heels and stand a bit more away from the ball and that will help stop the toe digging in. Just keep plugging away aswell as we all have those days even the pros. Hope this helps :)

Just forget it, it happens to every one. Just look at Tiger at Quail Hollow.

Next round will be totally different. May be no better, granted, but different for sure.

Luckily the mortgage doesn't depend on how we play.

I hope it does come back guys....I got so frustrated today that i nearly walked off the course early.....
What stopped me is that iv never quit anything in my life and i wasnt about to start today.I hacked and chopped my way around for the 24 points but it was hard work....i hate giving in to anything but the boat was pushed out a fair bit today.

It's a horrible feeling that but try not to dwell on it and don't start making drastic changes as this makes it worse.

I played a comp last Saturday, 20 pts on the front and my game deserted on the back 9.

Went to the range in the week and couldn't hit a ball for toffee. Got to the club early before the comp on Saturday and went to the range but just kept shanking everything.

Stood on the 1st tee hit a MASSIVE slice onto the 3rd fairway. Pulled out a 7 iron then had a moment of clarity. Iron, wedge later I was standing over a 3 foot birdie putt which I made and then went on to shoot 6 over.

No idea what happened on the range, or where the shanks came from but as quick as they came, they went again.

This has happened before and will happen again, you just have to try to accept it and forget about it.

I played Nairn last Sunday. 19 points on the front nine with a blob.
I played yesterday at Hever and had 19 points total. Over 18 holes. I could have pushed the boat out as well. It was that wet. I've forotten about it already. The cat hasn't. It will be a good few days before his sorry, sore arse heals up.
Next time out I will do better. Possibly. Maybe. Surely I must? But I can't guarantee it.
See. That's the beauty, and frustration of this game.
The one thing that's certain is the uncertainty.
;)

It happens. The problem comes when it lasts for a week, then a month and so on. Still from a personal point of view my game is starting to pick up in patches and the mojo is definitely back

Glad to hear it Homer, long may the recovery continue

...But today i will remember for the rest of my life.

I hope not. Forget it and get back on yer horse.
"You will forget" said in the best Obi-wan-kenobi style.

I've forgotten all my terrible rounds of my early days....thank god too. I wouldn't like to recall my 126 on a par 67 in 1994. (whoops - I can remember the score, not the shots - that's what I mean). :)

I had an 8 the other week. It's taken a whole lot of therapy and constant drinking and a bust ankle to forget that!!!
(whoops, I just remembered that as well)....

Chin up mate. :)

Thanks for the laughs and the heads up guys..... ;)
I know that there's no point in posting about what i did wrong as there were so many issues, that i must have had at least of one of every type of fault to be known happen to me today....
Roll on next weekend eh.

A PW 120 meters ?

Isn't that 135 odd yards ?

Blimmin' 'eck almighty.

I'd put up with a few dodgy rounds to be able to do that regularly.

He was probably trying to thin it, that's the only way I could hit a PW 135yds :D

The OP never said whether it would have reached. :D

Reminds me of an old caddy tale:

Player to caddy: "Do you think I can get there with a 5 iron?"

Caddy: " Aye.........eventually!" :D

Thats what i hit Craphacker......
I keep a card in my pocket for my distances so i can gauge roughly what club i need.....Its working ok so far....I usually pace from the fairway markers.
110-120 PW
120-130 9i
130-140 8i
140-150 7i
150-150 6i
160-170 5i
170-180 4i
These are obviously within reason and are rough gauges not exact and weather also comes into play...
Its like when i was playing football....Everyone used to tell me i had uncontrolled power :D :D
