Personally, as long as you meet the minimum standards set by the course, then I don't see what the hell it's got to do with anyone how you dress or what kit matches.
The idea that the amount of matching kit you should be allowed to have is dependant on your handicap is possibly the biggest piece of BS I've ever heard. My towel etc doesn't match my bag, but if I needed a new one I'd probably buy what matched the bag if it was the same price as other options. Why ? Because it would look smarter. What are you supposed to do ? Buy a colour that clashes with the bag depending on your handicap ? "My bags black but I play off 28, so I'll go for bright pink and long for the day when I can progress through the colour spectrum as my handicap reduces, oh for single figures and a grey titleist towel !"
How about play your own game, buy your own gear and stop worrying about what other people are doing.
