I'm following 3 x Cleveland 7 woods (22*) on the dreaded bay of which the first 2 are brand new and the same except the shaft!

1/ Diamana Red Board Stiff (FL Fairway)

2/ Grafalloy Prolaunch Red (FL Fairway)

3/ Mitsubishi Diamana Stiff (Launcher)

What's the difference?

What can or do these shafts do different to each other?

Redboard is the highest launching/spin of the Diamanas (Whiteboard lowest, Blueboard Low-Medium)

ProLaunch is Low Launching/Spin

More details needed on the generic 'Diamana'.

Diamanas have a nice (to me) amount of feel which, to me, PL Red lacks.

Depending on how high/long you 'naturally' hit, I'd have thought the Diamana Red would be more the sort of 'soft landing' club you were after - for those 165-195 Par 3s./Greens The PL Red is more the sort for penetrating styles that a hybrid would be used for - by those that like them - so a replacement for those that don't get on with them. 20* isn't a huge amount of loft (5W is 17-19 normally) but it will still produce quite a high flight, even with a 'low Launch' shaft.

Their all 22 degrees.

My strong 3w (13*) and 4w (17*) both have a Miyazaki C-Kua stiff shaft which I really like and am suited to, would the Red Board be the closest to them from that list, and what about Mabs Titleist shaft in the Cleveland he has for sale which he has also pictured in my wanted post, although that club is 20.5*, if the shaft would be better suited, I'd could go for that :mmm:

The only other info on the shaft is 64vSL

Also a Redboard - so no difference in shaft.

Only concern would be that it/they might launch too high with too much spin, so balloon, but that's not something I can predict - it's something only you will know/find out.

Audition mab's mashie? The D+ is equivalent to the Whiteboard/Ahina, so lower, but with feel.

What about the Titleist shaft in Mabs club? Its 20.5 against 22* but after being fitted with my driver by Taylormade, I understand the importance of the shaft more than anything now.

See my edit!

It really does depend on your attributes.

As stated originally, I'd think the Redboard is likely to be most suitable, but I've really no data to 'prove'. The Whiteboard in mabs's is the one I'd go for, but that's because of my attributes - and preferences!

What was your swing speed with the Driver? And spin rate? Is 'normal' flight High, Low or in between? Bears no relation to what 7 wood will produce, but narrows the guesswork down somewhat!

GD YS6/6+/Q is the 'fits 98% of players' shaft - mid everything and also with sufficient feel! Certainly worth considering!

Only real way is to try them out/get fitted!

Can't try them, their all over the country on the bay and I want one this week!

I was just over 100mph, my spin was high-ish I think around 2800 but I've been working on that since and I launch perfectly apparently at 17* :mmm:

It would seem Titleist like using the GD YS6/6+/Q which must mean something?

Other than my driver, I have Miyazaki's in my 3 & 4 woods, which would you say is the closest shaft from the Red Board and the GD?

by mabs!!!!!!!! i have that shaft in my driver and its great, it suits me its given me a lower flight and more feel of where the clubhead is. only probs is it came out a tit driver then into my r9 and currently in an adams ls driver (yet properly tested). also 0.5 degrees wont make a difference imo. go on go for it;)

Depends which Miyazaki. I've only experienced a couple of their ultra-light (39 and 43) ones, so a bit 'specialist'/out of date. What flavour do you have?

That spin isn't super high btw. Pretty difficult to go wrong with the GD though. Prices similar?

If it wasn't for the fact that you posted you wanted soft landing, I'd say the D+ (it's still possibly a good choice), but I'm wimping out from the possibility of the Redboard being too high/spinny and opting for the 'suits virtually everyone'/can't go wrong GD!

They are all good shafts btw - in fact there's not really such a thing as a 'bad' aftermarket shaft, only unsuited ones!

But to quote a TV Game show 'The choice is yours!'

Given that your name "accidentally" fell off the trophy, you'd need a win to get your name back on it!

Here's a curve ball, any views on this shaft?

Graphite Design YS-6 FW+ Stiff

I have a Graphite Tour AD YSQ 65 stiff shaft in my driver.

It's uber smooth and not boardy/harsh feeling at all. Gives me plenty more control against the stock Kai'li in regular.

I'm on the lookout for the same/similar shaft for my 4 wood.
