My handicap is now at 23.5 and have been improving well all year just not scoring well in medals but that is another story.

I am trying to figure out what would benefit me most. I currently play with my dad's old clubs which are Ping Eye 2's Orange dot so they are approx 15 years old. Would i be better at the moment to get the pings custom fit (unfortunately am not close to gainsborough) so cost would be £25 plus a handling fee to send them to ping at world of golf or do i look at getting completely new clubs custom fit.

What do you think would give me the most benefit at the moment?

Most benefit? Divorce your parents and move to Spain so you can play golf every day in the sunshine.

Ping Eye 2 are good clubs. What are you finding is the problem with them?

No real problem i just was wonderring if due to advancing technology there might be something better out there to continue my improvement or if getting the current clubs custom fit would be the best option and when (if) the handicap comes down then look at buying new irons?

Like Justoneuk said they are good clubs, still see good players use them.

Why not go to a local pro and have them fitted.

Go to a local pro then, Gerry Reilly at Lochwinnoch is a big Ping stockist, he will custom fit you and I can also assure you he wont charge you £25 carriage. That is an absolute joke. WofG are great to try clubs however I dont like their service and prices.

I usually find that local pros are more than happy to match world of Golf.

The only problem I see with Ping eye 2 is that the lofts are now "weak" compared to more modern irons and therefore you will probably lose distance, compared to a modern 8 or 9 iron.

Ping are second to none in the custom fit department and Gerry at Lochwinnoch is a good guy, if you want to phone him his number is 01505 843029, tell him Crawford told you he will do you his best price.

I'd just like to echo what Craw has said.

I had a set of ping zings and I hit them absolutely fine, I just found that I lost a bit of distance with them. I was hitting a 7iron about 145y and with my current yonex's I'm hitting ~160 with a 7.

But the actual clubs are fine and I enjoyed playing with them

I think you'll benefit mainly in the shaft area (unless the originals have been reshafted) and probably from a more solid feel off the newer face. I like the Ping range and you could do a lot worse than upgrade. If you shop around there must be some good I/G 10 deals now they've been superceded by the 15 model. It sounds like there are some decent club pros that'll sort you out too which is always good (better to support a club pro if you can)
