my boys asked me this earlier and I told them it was either subbuteo or Howzat, the hours I spent playing them when it was raining in the summer hols or cold winter nights :)

(scalextric was also in the mix aswell)

What was your favourite/fondest remembered?

Scalextric probably.

I was lucky enough to have a pretty sizeable "play room" as a kid (size of a double garage) and my mates and me set up what must have been the Scalextric track to end all scalextric tracks by combining all of our track pieces.

We used to customise and service our cars too. I had an Alfa Romeo rally car which was awesome. It was 4 wheel drive and stayed glued to the track.

I had a large, grey moneybox that was my pride and joy, and I used to put all my spare shilling and two shilling pieces in it.
It took me 8 years to realise it was the gas meter

Cant remember ever being indoors,i was in a football club and a running club from the age of nine and we were always out somewhere.
It wasnt like now,we were out all day.
Some kids these days are in all day playing video games.
I have fond memories of conkering and playing conkers, even thats banned these days.

And forgot - and the occasional Airfix battleship - One of which we blew up by removing the explosives from an Airbomb repeater firework and stuffing them in the hull; before gluing the deck back on and then lighting a fuse down the funnel.

Most satisfactory.

Arnold Palmer golf game with a tiny Arnie on a stick, and my Batmobile with the orange flame at the back that went in and out when the wheels turned.
