Was supposed to be playing with a fellow forummer at Irvine (Bogside) tomorrow but 30 mph winds and heavy rain/sleet and freezing temperatures have put the haw baws on that.
Now looks like I'll be getting under the wife's feet.
Society scramble (i think) at ten then members stableford at my home track tomorrow at 0945 not really expecting much as its heaving it down and pretty windy (for a links golfer that means stupid windy!)
10.30 tee off in the christmas bowmaker with 2 members i have never met, my first competition at the club, since joining a month ago
its pretty windy, the course is going to be a beast today
really looking forward to teeing off the first in front of the pro shop and club house
Battled the elements today and made it into work (only 40mins late today) few hours into my 12h shift on a sat !!!! At least is miserable out there so i'm not missing much
Its been blowing a gale up here for about 2 weeks now so no golf in prospect anytime soon. Its forecast for gusts up to 70mph this afternoon so I'm going to stay inside and bottle some homebrew. Last week there was a recorded gust of 130mph.
Battered my way round front 9 for a bad score then back 9 something clicked and I had my lowest back 9 ever my net was +3 but could of been a hell of a lot worse. Old man struggeled today though don't think he enjoyed himself last 4holes
