What made you buy your kit!!

I'm cheap,
irons were at a price it would have been silly to refuse, I hit them and liked them, they suit me.
new driver at a sale price - hit it, liked it,
putter, bit of a gamble but barely used and less than half price on ebay,
wedges off golfbidder - 'cos they fit the gaps
fairway and hybrids could do with 'refining'

For irons there is only one brand I look at and thats Mizuno for everything else its just the best head shaft combination I can find, although I will never buy Callaway or Taylormade

The irons felt nice in the shop (AG) so I went and bought them for a hundred quid less off of Amazon (£279 at the time, rather good value I thought).

My driver was a treat to myself, an early Christmas pressie, if you will.

The MD hybrid was an impulse thing, it was only £69 and if I didn't like it i'd ebay it. Fortunately I really like it, it's great off the deck and great off the tee. In fact, I like it so much I ordered an MD 3 wood last night :O

I wear Stuburt shoes because they were on offer (<£40!!) and are pretty comfy and look good.

I use a Bionic glove which is nice and padded so I don't get tingly fingertips when I hit a duffer :)

So, to sum up I use the kit I use because I'm rubbish and cheap :D

I have Titleist irons and wedges mainly because of there unfussy looks good custom options.

My choice of woods vary a lot, i dont care what brand as long as they go something like i want them too

With clothing and shoes i just buy nice looking gear have quite a lot of Galvin Green and Poulter stuff the only shoes i stay away from is Footjoy as i think they look too old fashioned and i could not pull of a pair of the classics

Rage.

I only tend to replace things when I'm at the end of my tether. I was really struggling with my Eye 2s (having had them for donkey's years, had the opportunity to try some G2s and that was it. Sold.

Very fed up with my driver playing with a friend of mine who couldn't get on with his new G2. Had a go. Sold.

I had a Ping CU5 putter that I'd had for about 12 years. Putted well with it, badly with it and always knew that it was me and not the putter. Suddenly, I just couldn't manage to line up square. 30 minutes after finishing the round, a shiny new Yes! Natalie in the bag.

I know that rage shouldn't drive my purchases but it has everytime. Oh and I like Ping stuff. :o

Wanted new gear after a long break from the game. Saw the club pro who stocks Mizuno and after trying a few different head/shaft combos I plumped for the MP 57's.

Couple of months after that decided to upgrade the woods and did the same again with the pro

All Mizuno stuff cos thats what he stocks and I was very happy to buy it. Couldn't give a monkeys about the price tbh

My putter is an original Odyssey 2-ball and I really can't see me ever changing it (getting it re-gripped next week tho).

I imagine that will stay as my set up until I retire in 8 years time.

No one makes a forged iron like Mizuno.
The wedges were cheap and filled the gap at the time but they are due to be changed shortly.
The Mizuno driver just felt good when I hit it so it went in the bag.
The Wilson fairway and rescue were recommended and they do a great job for now.
The Ping putter was the one that I was most comfortable with when I was looking for something new.
Apart from the Mizuno irons I dont have any necessity to play a particular brand. I will try any make of clubs and go with what gets the job done to the best of my ability.

At the end of the day I guess I'm lucky in that HID is rather understanding about my purchases and so as long as it doesn't send us down the road she's pretty cool. The main thing I look for in any club is how it feels and how I use it. I'm not good enough for out and out blades so they are out of the equation. After that it was a case of looking at the better player models (TM TP Titleist AP2 etc) and in the end my ideal irons were the I15 and the R9's and the TM's edged it on brand loyalty, better ball flight and price

Calling 'buy me, I am shiny'.

Yep, that's why I buy my stuff, coz it's new and shiny. And mainly with Titleist written on it.

Wedges, because I am a snob, and wanted something no one else would have (Dave Whitlam).

Not sure where my new Nike driver fits in here, but it probably won't oust my 909 anyway.
