What in your opinion is the most useless piece of golf equipment ?

Last time I saw anything like that was not on a golf course.

It was purely research, you understand!

From the course I played last week rakes appeared to be the most useless piece of equipment as no one appeared to use them. Twice I was in bunkers and my ball sat in unraked foot holes. Then again I suppose not putting it in the bunker to start with might have been a good idea..........
