We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!
I guess getting up at 2.30am, driving to Leatherhead to pick up HTL, drive back to Ascot with HTL still drunk (he didn't get home from London until 1.00am) and then playing 4 rounds in the Macmillan longest day is something I'd never contemplate with any other activity
Until golf came into my life I never realised I could be the epitome of sartorial elegance.
I am also more than happy to drive ridiculous distances to play with a bunch of strangers who at the time are hiding behind odd names on a forum.
I have also developed the facility to put an entire office to sleep.
I have to agree with the 'getting up in the mornings' comment. I am terrible in the mornings, I love sleep but if I am playing golf I am up at 6.30 on the dot.
Cleaning is another thing. Not exactly a fastidious cleaner of anything except my clubs which are washed and dried after every round.
Get out of my bed on a Sunday before 9 am.
Limit the amount I am drinking on a Saturday night because I want to play well on a Sunday.
Consider driving an electric car.
ive always been dedicated to any sport ive done, but golf is awesome, it gives me a legit reason to have my phone off for 5/6 hours for peace and quiet, my phone does not stop ringing, but golf days... oh shes off!
