What does one wear to a hospitality day at The Open?

Just that please.

Anyone been to a freebie?
Do the men wear golf casuals, or blazer and tie?

Surely it says on the invite what the dress code is? Or if not that info must be available on the website of the particular hospitality area?

However, if in doubt, for corporate entertainment I always go for smart casual (chino's, shirt, smart but comfortable shoes). If blazer and tie were required I'm sure you would have been told.

I'm sure someone will be along that's actually been to one but I'd say it depends on who the invite is from

If its from the R&A I'd be dressed smarter than if it was from the company that supplies blades for the mowers and gets half a dozen corporate invites for a tented area well away from the big boys

I have done a few of these for The Open and 9/10 times it is golf attire.

I would ask your host for guidance though.

And don't ask Lewis Hamilton for advice on this after his Wimbledon fiasco. :)

I had a quick look on the Open hospitality page and pretty much all the glossy photos show people wearing golf attire / smart casual. No jackets / ties in sight. I really think you would have been advised if it were necessary to dress more formally.

Short and Flipflops

the best possible drinking attire.....

on a serious note, i am up there tomorrow and will be wearing smart jeans and a nice new polo shirt, with brown leather shoes. Not sure about the blazer.

Have a pop in to the R&A Swingzone and say hello to Andy Leigh (one of your fellow members) - he's works for Golf Roots, getting kids into golf.
