#1 What a shame all the atmosphere, exitement and general joie de vive has been removed from the Masters.

#2 What a shame the coverage has at least 40% actual play, wouldn't it be nice to get a few more benial interviews in? or maybe some extra pointless montage's.

#3 What a shame we still have members of the golfing fraternity still involved with the BBC coverage! surely there are more ex footballers we could use? or maybe it's time to bring in others equally less qualified! perhaps Chris Moyles might like a go?

#4 What a shame the Americans atention span is such that the the gutless BBC and it's viewers "along with all the other leaching broadcasters who don't have the balls to tell The Augusta National to stick it where the sun doesn't shine unless they get rights to produce their own coverage" have to have some sort of filler to pad out the marketing gaps.

#5 What a shame I've been driven to watching a live score feed on the internet, rather than the actual footage! just so I know what's happening.

#6 What a shame Jim Furyk had to play on his own! I think Sergio must have slept with the editors wife! I haven't even seen his marker on the green yet, inspite of watching Furyk shot for shot since 8.

#7 What a shame it's probably going to go to someone we've never really heard of or care about! "Unless theres a bet involved" winning in an uninteresting style in a tensionless finale! heralded by the trumpets of "The modern ball go's too far! move the tees back!"

#8 Shocking.

1st Post probably the last.

PS: If you want length off the tee! hit it harder.

Welcome....

Curious first post....I agree with 8,7,6,5,4,3 and 2....

You must be bored to randomly "discover" a huge Golfing community at 10.30 on a Saturday.....you're in good company.

Not such a random discovery! I believe my father is known to patrol these waters! I see a Shropshire location there too maybe you have graced the turf of Oswestry? spent many happy years there as Asst Pro in the 90's :-) good times.

Oswestry, of course, know it quite well....prefer Llany' though for a day out.

US Filmed coverage is mediocre at best. Too many chopping & changing between players finishing off on holes, with no real coverage of actual action tee to green & hole. I've seen highlights that seem less disjointed than the coverage of the Masters.

I will admit Saturdays coverage seems marginally better than Thursday & Friday. But still too many anal montages... For the love of "Bobby Jones", leave the montages to the end of coverage.

LOL I love this bit where people write that they're playing with the wrong clubs!

FYI every club in my bag is D4 and I made most of them.

I don't write this....

FYI every club in my bag is D0, but you're a proper player!!

:-) My signature is just a sly smile to the standard clubhouse chat "Was great off the tee couldn't hit long irons".. Short Irons were great couldn't hit a fairway wood to save my life" .. "Faiway woods great couldn't hit anything under 100yds" etc etc LMAO why do people think they can walk on to the 1st tee with one swing for 13 different clubs?

D0 eh! bet there was some drilling going on to get them down there! :-)

Watching in the US, coverage seems to focus only on the last 3 pairings, unless someone gets an eagle. Kind of how the yanks cover golf.

Weird watching in the afternoon though. Would much rather watch it in the evening.

Comeone Angel. Oh, and ditch the long putter.

100% agree, coverage is mince, however thankfully its not on sultana TV, now thats crap coverage.

The BBC, where have they gone wrong with their coverage?

IMO Alliss and Brown are a group double team.
Grady is decent, and at least calls a spade a spade.

On the flip side:

Linekar!! Why oh why does the BBC think that an english football legend, and keen golfer, can fill the job that requires something decidedly more articulate than MOTD.

Torrance is dire, he seems to have a knack of predicting a bad shot that either splits the fairway or ends up 10ft from the pin. His cheesiness is annoying too.

This Shane clown.....his questions are utterly dire and mechanical, ala Hazel Irvine, I cringe whenever he does the post round stuff, there's nothing insightful in anything he asks.

The Krokodil solution:

In the studio: If they can't get Ryder back then Dougie Donnelly would be far better than Linekar.
Get Alex Haye back as the 4th man for the Majors and ditch Torrance.
On the course: Sack Shane and bring in Donnelly-he's a natural interviewer and was one of the few people that built a rapport with Woods, or get Alistair Bruce-Ball from Radio 5 who is far better than the irishman.
