Westwood not no1 for long?

i think you may be right - its early doors, not sure how kaymer has got on today but for me kaymer looks like he has got the game and more importantly the temperament to stay there for a while yet.
I also expected tigger to come back stronger but he didn't do much first time out.

Its going to be an interesting next 3 or 4 months

Kaymer was 2 or 3 over this morning when I checked.

He'll probably get ousted, but I think he'll be there or there abouts battling with Kaymer, Woods et al for the rest of the season. Will make it great to watch.

Kaymer would have to finish 2nd in Qatar to take #1 spot now i believe and is currently in t57th

on +3 while leaders on -7

36 holes to go really dont think he'll manage it this event
...but you never know

have to see how it goes next event

think the week off last week after only just starting back didnt help Westy

next weeks another week tho ..personally i think MK might take over the top spot then ,depends if westy gets his head on

A crafty punt on Kaymer for a top 5 finish this weekend might not be a bad idea. With Westy out of the picture this week, ze German will have a bit more wind in his sails to notch up some vital world ranking points.

I think it's great that the no1 spot is more open now than when tiger dominated the game.

I agree, he will not stay at No.1 much longer, sadly he didnt make the cut in Qatar, But there has been some good golf being played in Qatar (Especially With the strong wind on day 1)

not sure this is the course to be punting Kaymer, clearly doesnt like the course and his previous form round here is not good (not finished in top 30), next week however a very different story....

Not sure you can get too much from the first two rounds other than some big names can't play in the wind. With conditions as they were there was always going to be some big name casualties (not good for my fantasy team) but I don't think Kaymer will oust Westwood just yet. It will happen and it will happen this season but I'm predicting Westwood to still be number 1 by the time the open starts

Yep , but lets face it, with the likes of Kaymer, McIlroy , McDowell on his tail i didn't expect him to be there very long. He will hopefully win 1 major, maybe 2, but those three will win 4 each minimum !!! , Kaymer may win 8

I think the number one position will change a few times over the year, due to the points tally for each of the top players being so close.. In years gone by Tiger always had a commanding lead and no one was getting close until everything went pear shaped over the past year.

Kaymer may get close but I think Westwood is okay for another week and next week I wouldn't put it past him to come out and win with Tiger in the field.
