Right, mid May 8 of us are heading your way to play Turnberry Kintyre with our Bunkered freebie vouchers and also we are going to take in Irvine Bogside as we get on it for £20 as we are all members of a fellow James Braid course and stay overnight for 1 evening somewhere.

What I need from you local boys is advice on where to stay or where not to stay?!

It had been suggested Ayr until a mate said no way as it was akin to Beirut,I'm thinking Killie and another has a liking for Largs due to him saying it was Milf central on a night he spent there in a distant past!!

Advice on towns to spend the overnight stay and what hotel in said town(s).....fire away with your best men.:fore:

Prestwick would seem ideal for you Alan. Great selection of pubs and less nutters about than Ayr ( or Killie )

A good selection of hotels of which the North Beach and Parkstone are two of the best.

Yes mate stay away from Ayr pretty scary during the day never mind at night.
there is a menzies hotel near Irvine i am sure, dont know prices etc ,ive past it on the duel carrigeway on way down that direction

Another shout for Prestwick, its got a good selection of pubs and has a great ratio of eye candy. Largs is nice but it has its fair share of neds and its more like purple rinse brigade than MILF!

One of my mates is looking into options for us in late May, either the Haven in Ayr or the Haven camp near Edinburgh. Cheap as chips, but luxury it aint.

Just to let you know of a little deal for in the area. There is a Prestick golf pass where you can play Prestwick, Prestwick St.Cuthbert and Prestwick St. Nicholas for £175, saving abot £50.

Iain....how far out is this Premier Inn as it's coming in at less than £15 a head, add to that even a fiver taxi each way in and out to Prestwick's ale houses and it is looking a possible winner!

Another vote for Prestwick. Cracking pubs. The option to stay in a cheap hotel in Ayr and go out in Prestwick would by the best option I think. Only a quick taxi run from Ayr to Prestwick.

That is the week we have pencilled in, just waiting on numbers. Little tip - book before the end of the month, as haven have a 50% off deal for non peak weeks (which that week is). I dont know if we are going for the Ayr or the Edinburgh option yet, one has a par 3 course, can't remember which. I may only go for 4-5 nights, as Ive also got a staggy in Newcastle and a Wembley trip (at least one) so far. If we go for the Ayr option, could have a challenge match, how many of you are going?

if you like Shameless i can recommend staying in any of the three towns (ardrossan saltcoats stevenston) for legal reasons thats all im saying. pppppppppaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrtttttttttttttttttttttttttttyyyyyyyyy
