In so much that we're falling like flies through injury.

Played a terrible first 6 holes, then got in 'the zone'. All going beautifully. 4 up in matchplay and collecting 2s, 3s, and 4s in stableford. Then, OUCH!!!!

Taking my one practice swing on the par 5 13th, having just gross birdied the 12th. And my left ankle rolls out on the follow through and I end up on the floor in agony in a heap. (I play right handed, so it's my front foot).

I tried to play a tee shot, but just ended up on the floor again.

Naturally the 13th is the furthest point from the clubhouse, so luckily I got a lift from a fellow member with a buggy.

At home now, had an ice pack on my foot most of the afternoon. Still in damn agony!

Just hacked off (what at now!! :D) that I ddin't get to finish the round.

Easy to see why it happened when you look at this pic. Especially on the firmer, drier ground that we have at the moment.

Not good mate. My advice (working in a hospital) would be to get to A&E around 6.00-7.00 am on Sunday. They will have dealt with the aftermath of Saturday night and the DIY and sports injuries won't have started rolling in. It won't be too hot so the heart problems and respiratory cases will be minimal. It sounds like you've obviously done something to it so best to get an x-ray if nothing else

It feels like the bones on top left of of my left foot area is where the pain is coming from, and it extends into a numb lower calf area. As you say, bad time to go to A&E. I'll wait until Monday and see how it feels.

Sounds preety nasty. :(

If you're going to be stuck at home with your foot up, why not take a couple of golfing mags and hang around A&E this morning - at least you'll know what's up.

But either way - hope it's not too serious.

HH, looking at your pic I have am NOT surprised you are wearing Pods. I had a pair and tried them on at home but when I made the swing movement I felt that their was a very small margin between left foot lean and actually collapsing on me.

I know that I do over roll compared to some. Just look at Homers sig pic, same shoes as well!

So you'd suggest a more traditional shoe that doesn't have all that extra height that the PODS do? Oh dear more golf expense. Unless anyone has any ideas on reducing foot roll?

How is it today ?

In terms of reducing your foot roll. Would a wider stance help ? :D

Coz if it's anything like my back, or my mates ankle, once it's shown a propensity for going, it'll sometimes just pop out when you least expect it

Ta for asking.

Still a little tender, but I doubt if a visit to A&E will really do anything.

I've been looking at photos and video of my swing. Perhaps a slightly wider stance would help. But I'm also considering turning my left foot more 'toe out' if that makes any sense.
