If you are thinking about this, you are 90% of the way to messing it up!

Fut if you can find a P-Grind Vokey, the sole was effectively about 1/4 inch!

I have a Vokey 60-04. (60 deg, 4 deg bounce)
It has a very sharp leading edge and a wide sole, not the easiest club to use, but you can nip shots off bare lies with it if used correctly. HTH's

I have 14* of bounce on my 56 and I can flop it pretty much as good as a friends low bounce 60*. I just don't think about bounce and rely on good technique. Even at my course which is almost devoid of grass I got up and down 7 times with a mid bounce 56* and a low bounce 52*.

Put the cash into lessons first, deal with the technical improvements when you have much more consistency. I just happened to buy a low bounce 52 and a mid bounce 56 on reliable advice, that setup has worked for me since I took up the game and I won't change until a pro advises it again and I feel comfortable.

If you can flop your high bounce 56 as well as your mates low bounce 60 then im afraid there is something wrong with your mates technique.
