Wedge flex shafts are usually S200 or similar, the manufacturers say they fit them for control but if you play reg shafts surely a reg shaft in the wedges would be better? don't you lose height with a stiff shaft in a wedge as you are not hitting full out how do you load the shaft correctly?

You shouldn't really need to load the shaft too much with a wedge, and the lower ball flight is minimal. I reckon most players who play R300 in their irons wouldn't know the difference. You can order a range of shafts and flexes as custom orders with a lot of the better wedges, but for the standard wedges and all the lofts, it is just easier to stick one shaft into the great majority of clubs. With Vokeys, you have 2 or 3 finishes, 4 or 5 lofts and several bounce variations. If they came in two shafts, the pro shop would need to have about 40 of them just to have one in each permutation.
