Are there alternatives to Intelligent Golf?

It does the job (just about) but I get the feeling that it's fat and lazy. It looks to me like it doesn't have the server capacity or technical support staff it needs for peak times; I suspect that, because it has no competition, it cuts corners on cost for profit hence I ask the question . . . (apart from simply going it alone) are there any other industry specific platform options?

The biggest outfit and most widely used is ClubV1 (with HowDidIDo). The smallest of the 3 majors is HandicapMaster (with MasterScoreboard and now tying up with Golf Genius) is the best value IMO. It certainly seems to have the best customer service.
IG is the most expensive, HM the least.

I doubt any club would have the resources to 'go it alone'.

Ditto to the comments about going it alone just on two simple points.

The software has has to be approved and it has to link to the CDH.

If your club is thinking about changing it is worth deciding if they want separate handicaps and comps etc software to golf club management software.

One of the reasons we went to IG is to have an integrated system.
