Ideally green dot with a stiff TFC shaft. Does anyone have one of these lying about unused? My present 3 wood is a 15.5 degree and it's too close in terms of distance to my 17 degree rescue club, so figure that a 14 degree 3 wood might sit nicely in the gap between 10.5 degree driver and the rescue.

Cheers.

Hi Del, I have a G2 14 degree. Trouble is that is has the Aldila NV shaft in regular - not sure if that would be suitable. Was looking for a 3 wood with a bit more loft so maybe a swap? Let me know.

Hi there. Sounds like a plan!

I've got a Mizuno MX700 15.5 degree 3 wood with a regular Exsar shaft, but rarely take it out with me so it's virtually as new.

I recently picked up a Ping G10 driver with a stiff TFC shaft which is apparently stiffer than a regular shaft, but not as stiff as a 'stiff' shaft, it seems. Every other club I have has a regular shaft, so the Aldila in yours might be just fine.

How do you want to move this on?

Cheers mate.

If you want to swapsies the Mizuno PM me your address and I will post you the Ping (it is in very good condition). If you like the club, send the Mizzy back in the box. Happy for you to try the Ping first and if it's not for you just send it back - all we've lost is a bit of postage.

Wont be able to post until after Boxing Day though.

Let me know.

Just thought I'd update this thread for anyone who might be interested.

Got the opportunity to use snaphookwedge's Ping G2 3 wood this morning and loved it. Played a good few shots from the tee, off the fairway and in the first cut and didn't hit a single bad shot with it! The Aldila NVS seems to be a great shaft and I was getting a lovely flight with the ball.

So, my Mizuno MX700 3 wood will be in the post to its new owner in East Sussex tomorrow!!

Cheers Ad - you're a top bloke! :)

The Ping/Mizuno swapsies has been a great success, Del even chucked in 3 ProV's which was extremely generous of him and totally unexpected. Ebay? Forget it, if you can deal with folks on here the experience is second to none, Cheers Del

Where are my ProV's/Nike shoes you ungrateful oik!

:D :D

As you say, there's some right good folk on this place. Happened across this thread and now know the story behind the Mizzy 3 wood that Del was sending you at the same time.

Now you've just got to find time to use them both!

Absolutely loving this Ping 14 degree 3 wood! Played in damp, windy conditions this morning and after an 8 at the first, settled down to shoot 47 for the front nine and only 39 for the back nine. Hit two glorious shots in a row with the 3 wood coming up the Par 5 18th, after trying to melt my drive and succeeding to merely top it 80 yards! My third shot to the green was uphill, into a 2 or 3 club wind and 196 yards to the middle of the green. Cracked a belter of a shot with the 3 wood to about 15 feet and two easy putts for a Par.
:whoo:

Think Andy, Jezz, and I'll need to put pressure on this 3 wood to perform at Machrihanish!

Honestly mate, 'tis a thing of beauty to see a well struck shot with this club. I have NEVER hit a green from that distance in those conditions in my life!!
