Do you reckon the wind dropping turned the singles in favour of the US? They seemed to really struggle in the gale but whenit died they seemed to step up a gear.

Ok, I called it before I saw the result. Bottler, may be. May be not. But cantlay can play a bit, and cutler did well. May be if his result had mattered he would have closed it out. Who knows.

Cutler was in for 4 at 18 and conceded a 15ft putt to Cantlay for the half,
He was informed at the 15th that GB&I had won and was just going through the motions from there.
Cutler played well all weekend and if required he would have seen the match out I reckon.

Can anyone explain to me what that loop / stutter is in Nathan Smith's backswing? They showed it in slow-mo, but I still couldn't work out how he did it. I think it opens up a time portal into a parallel unverse if you watch really carefully?!

also interested, surprised its not been analysed a lot, the commentators said it was a career amateur swing ie flawed but he can get it round ok but dont think it would hold up in pro golf

Thinking about why the BBC commentators didn't go into it in more detail shows up another floor in their coverage doesn't it? There is nobody there who is actually qualified to analyse a swing. Before they booted out Alex Hay many years ago, there was at least a respected teaching pro in the commentary box who would do proper swing analysis. Yesterday they just said "It looks quirky" but no knowledge to really pick it apart and explain how or why. Shame.

I see that 9 out 10 of the GB&I team are now turning pro to have a crack at Tour quali school.
I think it's Rhys Pugh who's not, as he's only just enrolled in US college.
From what you saw over the weekend, how many of them do people think will make it as pros? Tom Lewis looks like he's got a pro game that will hold up under pressure, but a few others look a bit twitchy to make it on the pro circuit.

Although his act was sporting, the example you give is why he should have played out the match to a true conclusion, or maybe the Cutler family had an alternative wager
