Vardon or interlocking grip?

I see you as a golfing role model chris. If it's good enough for you then it's for me.

I'm going to get myself some iron covers, some rubber tees on string sbd a chipper also, so I can really be like you ;)

All those things will help you no end but if you really want to be more like me you'll need to lose 8 stone and a green pen!

I started off with the Vardon grip, but years of cycling and playing football left me with very strong legs, but rather weak arms and hands. I was often guilty of allowing my hands to open during the swing, which led to all manner of bad shots. Changed to the interlocking grip because it seemed more secure, and it hurt my little finger if I did let go of the club. Of late I have used grip exercises to build up the strength in my hands. This has definitely improved my golf and also had the useful side effect of curing an arthritic knuckle, which was a legacy of a cycling accident. :)

I played the other day and was interlocking, before that i think i was vardoning. I picked up a club the other day and didn't know what i was doing.... i think i changed my grip to vardon a while ago, but changed without thinking for a round..

Vardon, having started off with interlock as a junior.

Pros: Vardon grip guarantees you an extra 15 yards off the tee

Cons: it also makes you want to write absolute bollocks on Internet forums

15 yards you say.

I think I may have to have a play with the Vardon as I'm an interlock kind of guy :)
