Fair enough Biffa, hope she's fully recovered and you have a great weekend away. Can whoevers minding your kids take mine as well ? ;)

My missus asked for a new bag and belt last year. Vacuum worked a treat.
She once asked for an animal skin coat so I bought her a donkey jacket.
First year we were together I didn't know what to get her she said "I guess i'll have a diamond ring" my response, "guess again"
:D

Well my wife has been in and out of hospital over the last few months with a twisted bowel. She finally got an op last week to remove part of it and has been in hospital since the beginning of the month.

She is now getting better and it looks like I will get my ideal valentines present which is getting her home today.

As she sometimes is a lurker on her all I want to say is It's great to have you home dear...

Now get the tea on and the ironing needs done

I always buy a card and some flowers. A pressie too usually.

It's a nice thing to do and girls like nice gestures, simple as that.

My wife always says the same sort of thing as some of the posts above:- "waste of money", "invented by hallmark", "we don't need a special day to buy something" etc.... And I have said the same thing in the past too.

On the day though, we always surprise each other with a card and a pressie and we are always quietly chuffed that we did.

All those posting on here saying my wife and I think it is a load of nonsense sound like miserable gits to me. Furthermore, I bet if you did buy your wife something nice and gave her a card, she would in 95% of cases be absolutely delighted.

I hope you were dressed more appropriately than the pic of you in the sig Rob. Not sure you'd have got in anywhere :o

Don't you believe it Dave.
We are quite close to Brighton down this way.
Was a bit surprised when I popped into a bar down there one night and a waiter came up behind me and asked if he could push my stool in for me
