Played at Woolton golf course the other night, and saw that one of the holes was called Strawberry fields, and I thought we're a good mile away from Strawberry fields, then noticed that all 18 holes were named after Beatles songs.

Ive played here about 10 times and never noticed it, so may be a new thing.

I was then thinking of what Beatles song sums up my game? Answered on the 16th when I went OB.....la di, OB.....la-da.........:(

What beatle song would yours be, or have you ever known all golf holes to have a theme at any other courses?

Spion Kop. Its one of the holes at one of the Perth courses I played in May '89, en-route to Blairgowrie. Each of the holes there was named, another being Skinny Lizzie. Quite what the history is behind them all I don't know.

Although from what I remember of Spion Kop, the hole as it was a par 4 with the green on a small pimple at the top of a hill, named after the hill/battle from the Boer war I guess.

Magical Mystery Tour would be my song. Very apt particularly when I'm playing a long par 5 🤣

I can't say that I ever notice hole names. I could have played 18 holes named after Carry On films and not picked up on it.

Yep, played it, think its at Edzell. Played it with another LFC season ticket holder who is a good mate.

I drove it just short, short pitch in, had a 3 footer for birdie, from memory. Thought, I'm gonna birdie this, so will be memorable. I missed and 3 putted and he chipped in from the bunker iirc. Git

Theres a hole at castlerock called Spion Kop. Big hill right in the middle of the fairway which the ball more times than not will roll down one of the sides.

Enniscrone's 2nd course has the front 9 all birds names and the back 9 flowers and grasses.

The vast majority of cards dont tend to have the hole names on them.

Just had a quick nosey through a pile of old cards I have tucked away.

Muckhart possibly Brian. The 4th on the Cowden course is Spion Kop. Par 4 to a green at the top of the hill. Not a hard hole but one that is quite narrow at the mid point. Used to be a member there.

Canmore in Dunfermline also has a par 3, the 12th I think, called Spion Kop.
