So the national Grids has warned that we're running out.

Perhaps its opportunistic and just an excuse to jack up the price!

Time to get the 'genny' fuelled up!

I thought it would be ok now I sorted my heating out.

Knocked about £20 off my monthly bill despite things getting colder in Feb vs jan.

Its a massive problem, i work in the industry of keeping datacenters on, without them the world would literally stop. The UK has some serious issues, we have been buying electricity from France for some time, but its not enough. And then the government and environmentalists are pushing electric cars! Where are they going to get their power from? yup, the grid. We seriously as a nation need to look at more sustainable sources (wind, tidal, geothermal, solar) or we are screwed and will start to have major blackouts.

Drdel, your post had tipped me over the edge. Ave had a bad day. Dropped grandaughter off at nursery today. 7 miles away and the roads were good, very good compared to some. Woman says we "might be shutting down later today coz of the weather". Eh, it wasn't that bad. I said " I was not gonna bother bringing her in but daughter would of been charged anyway". 25 minutes later I got a phone call " sorry we are closing, can you pick up Young tash, oh ah and you still get charged £35 for 25 mins". Oh how my bloody tyrets kicked in. Called into Drs to pick up Missis T's ticker tablets. "Soz but there no chemist in", eh well what do the bloody poorly folk do for there prescriptions/ antibiotics that the dr says they need.
People driving on the Roads and kids on bikes are passing them on push bikes on the pavement that hasn't been gritted and throwing snowballs at the cars. What the bloody hell are you doing on the roads.
Bloke rings and says, " Tash, that artificial grass you ordered, we are struggling to get it delivered today" , it is sat in a warehouse 3 miles from me. Tash being Tashy
, " Listen me ole knobber, am in me 4x4 truck al pick it up". " Right he says no problem". " Er how do I get me £20 delivery back if I am picking it up meself". Guess what, it's still sat at said warehouse
Then we're running outta gas, well guess what we have 200 billion tons of coal under our rssss, and the energy being generated at the moment is over 20% coal. Not a bloody cobble of it from the UK.
Roll on Monday when tash is off to the Far East and I hope the bloody ice age drops on the UK for two weeks so folk can really panic and worry about how there take aways and shopping is gonna get delivered.
Days not finished so may well be adding to this rant

I'm not surprised as most of these combi boilers use too much gas nowadays.

Hey Tash, about the coal thing. I've always said that Thatch was planning for the future. We are using up other countries resources and in 200 years we will be sat on the only stuff left!!!!!

Sorry, hope you feel better now!

News this AM said the National Grid have downgraded/ removed the warning they issued yesterday and that homes would not be affected....... business would be reduced first

I did some work with Nat Grid at the Gas Control Centre...some seriously clever folk in there doing all the planning. They have some statutory obligations about what they are meant to say and when...

We've had our central heating on for twice as long as usual.... as have millions of other people. Remember, gas travels round the network slowly. So pumping extra from Suffolk to Liverpool takes longer than driving there!
