We've had cookery programmes, DIY, Antiques, garden makeovers etc etc etc.
It seems the programme makers are now falling over themselves to make programmes about the overweight.
eg
Too fat for 15
Fat families
Obese, a year to save my life
45 stone virgin
Fat and proud
Fat surgeons

Entertainment or cheap tele?

Cheap to make and appeals to the lowest common denominator

Cheap tele, obviously.

I have to admit though the "Obese, a Year to save my life" series is quite entertaining. Waaay too much crying in it (when women are involved) but amazing to see the results.

Same with the Biggest Loser. I watch the 1st one then the last one when they've lost all the weight at the live final, just to see the difference.

If I don't stop eating 2 kit hat chunky's every day, I'll soon be like that!

I recon the next big reality program should be.................

GM Forum ....and the ball flight laws............

It could be an eviction type show ............... with special tasks on how to his a draw and S&T

Mixed with the weakest link...........

Fat tv programmes are Gross!!!

Next reality show is the DJ X factor..........Will Smith and Simon Cowell apparently.

The TV companies are only feeding the obsession of people in general but more specifically women at the beginning of every year, with losing weight. Another thread on this forum supports that. First rule of business, surely?

I'm just glad that we have a Sky+ box in the bedroom so that my wife does not fill up the hard disk on the main box with series linked recordings!

I love the idea that TV is being "dumbed down".

I presume everyone used to watch shows like The South Bank show and nothing else in the 70's and 80's?

The X- Factor is just a louder, brasher version of Opportunity Knocks.

More channels means more time to fill which inevitably means a drop in "overall" quality but it also means we get tons of TV that appeals to all us "intellectuals" that log on here.

I rarely watch TV as it's broadcast these days, I just record what I want and watch it when I want.
