I read that Davis Love amongst other practices with an MP3 player playing tunes in his head to help groove a sense of rhythm and tempo in his swing, it didn't say what he listens to however.
I thought I would try something similar and started by hitting a 6 iron with Led Zeppelin pleasuring my lugholes on the practice range. It was a quite strange sensation, addressing the ball and trying to stop your toe tapping a beat.
Anyway I didn't find it helped much at all and was scattering them left and right as normal.
Has anyone else tried this and did it work? If so what tunes were you listening to??

p.s. Nobody dare say 'Straight down the middle' by Bing Crosby or whomever sang it!

Excellent thread birdieman,

I'd listen to 'Easy like Sunday morning' - it's so boring it's bound to slow my swing down

Thanks, I am not the most practical of thinkers. Have always thought of wearing an ipod when I am hitting balls so will give it a go.

Marko, never heard of it - more info please.

Not sure my stuff will work as it's an ecletic mix - but worth a try (Stones to Pink (embarrasses the hell out of my daughter when I buy it!) via UB40!)

I think a bit of UB40 or reggae generally would help cure my tendency to get too quick from the top, slow that transition from backswing to downswing to something more than a millisecond!
Who's the cheapest online songs seller?? I used to use a Russian site but it closed down.

It doesn't matter to me what's on the ipod, I just use it to drown out all other noises (for some reason the local girls school always seems to be having group lessons whenever I am at the range, and the noise has to be heard to be believed).

I regularly practice to the tunes of 'Dad'

It goes -
Dad, can I have some more balls please;
Dad, watch this shot;
Dad, I need a wee;
Dad, I need a drink;
Dad, have you got anything to eat.

Its always in perfect stereo with one child in the bay behind and one in front. Kids!!!!! ;)

Nice idea but just not for me. Music and golf just doesn't mix although Davis Love III (and other Pros) are probably used to blotting out all sound when playing. The reformed Led Zep could be playing just down the fairway and they wouldn't notice.

But if a spectator happens to take a photo at the wrong time, you can guarantee they'll hear the shutter click from 100 yards!
