Trilby Tour 2011

I think I'm going to go for the Oxfordshire (Have a practice round for £50 day before) Plus if the free golf offer from the weblink comes through, I'll get chance to play it in April as well.

I've gone for The Oxfordshire.

Fingers crossed that the free round ticket thing comes through as that will be a nice bonus.

It'll be brutally long if the go to the very back pegs!!!

I've screwed up!!! Just went back in to book and it's full already!!!! :( :(

Just signed up for Rockliffe Hall. Looks like a nice track but slightly miffed that they're not coming back to Scotland. Was going to wait for the phase 2 but it looks likely that if you're not fast you're last! Not a great system...

Scotland might be in phase 2....but then again it might not!!! Can't believe they wouldn't have a Scottish venue, there'd be an uprising, or at the very least some people might get upset and write to "points of view"..... :D

is it to late to enter

You can sign up for the waiting list, then if people drop out (I believe a lot did last year), then you get the option to enter, 1st come 1st served.

£50 secures entry to the waiting list and if you don't get a place you get the £50 refunded.

Seeing as I missed out on the Oxfordshire, I'm going to enter Goodwood on July 21st. Go down on the 20th, practice round in the afternoon, stay over and then qualifier on the Thursday. Might even try and find somewhere to play on the Friday and make a real stay of it!!

I've played Goodwood's Park Course before but not the Downs Course which is 7104 yds off the back tees and is a 1914 James Braid design, often described as "the UK's best Downland course".

I rang Goodwood to confirm which course it was, as the William Hunt website mentions both courses but doesn't say which one we would be playing!! They confirmed it's the Downs.......I'm sold!!

Don't really want to wait for the phase 2 release as the dates will probably start to clash with the summer holiday period, and that nearly ended in divorce last year.. :o

Lovely course, not too far from me. Would have suggested a game with you Rick, but will be in Spain admiring the views on the topless beaches. :D

After watching it on tv last year, i was thinking of having a go, then i saw the price
Not worth that to play last years scottish venue. if it was at Loch Lomond poss.

I'd look a right TW*T in one of those f*cking hats anyway :D

Patrick, for the £250 entry fee you get:

Course fee ( £40 - £120 depending on venue)
Breakfast & Dinner (approx £30)
WH shirt (RRP £90)
WH trousers (RRP £130)
WH Belt (RRP £50)
WH Trilby (RRP £30)
Golf bag ( RRP?? approx £70-120?)

If you qualify, you also get another round at the Buckinghamshire or equivelant ( approx £90)

Obviously the above prices are only a guideline and I'm sure you can pick up last years clothing range cheaper on line, but it's still good value especially when you get treated like a pro for the day with the Sky TV camera there and the buzz you get out of it. Good value in my books. :D

Do you have to buy all WH gear or can you go dressed as Wurzel Gummage?

Noticed they didn't have a Scottish venue on the website at the moment anyway. Trouble is for me its a 3 hour drive to Edinburgh, so its another night away, already have Machrihanish and Goswick. I can't see Mrs 148 being happy about it. espec if i was on TV looking a tw*t. :D
