As we're in a time where many of us have plenty of time to catch up on jobs we should have done yonks ago, I thought I'd start this in order to pass on handy hints and tips that may help others.
Today I re-felted my shed roof and I have a good tip for anybody planning on doing the same.
DO NOT, under ANY circumstances, use cheap 5 year felt.
Go for the 15 year felt as it's, obviously, much heavier duty and, just as importantly, it does not tear like the cheap crap felt does.
Also, when banging in the galvanised nails, hold the nails with long nosed pliers ........................ it saves on thumbs!
Hope this helps.

Here's mine:

A painting tip for when you're cutting in, get a 3" synthetic "angled" paint brush. A clean empty paint tin or container and pour 2 - 3 inches of paint in, you're not going to need more just for cutting in. Rigorously dab brush up and down in paint then dab 4 sides of brush lightly on side of tin. This will give you a fully loaded inside of brush. Place brush at the angle on wall and you'll be surprised how far you can go before running out! This might take a bit of practice for some but it works and is a lot quicker.

Try it! (y)

Don't be too ambitious. Yesterday, or was it Friday...yes Friday I think! I boasted about my little spreadsheet with a job a day listed. Friday's was completed - Sat and Sun haven't been. So I think I'll take the date element out and do them when I feel like it, which may or may not be completed during the lockdown

Yes. Decent felt is a must!

You are supposed to be staying at home!!

Of course I'm staying at home!
I've been furloughed from work and spent over 2 weeks decorating and gardening.
Which in normal times would probably have taken us the best part of a year because of busy family and social lives.
