Too many devices in the house and too many of them becoming 'smart'... from TVs to microwaves to doorbells. a lot of them plugged in 24x7. Also means, you can have an attack from anywhere. Bad actors looking to exploit vulnerabilities and new ones emerging everyday.
Usually, I would consider myself to be a bit literate and aware of the threat and pitfalls.

Was looking at some of the router logs .. it seems like our 'smart' TV .. yup TV was had an intrusion attempt couple of months ago. It was denied. This is the bit I know of.. i wonder what have we missed.

Hopefully Gemma Collins and Piss Morgan!!

Ah this connectivity dream .. watch porn direct , be subjected to uncontrollable advertising... that is the true meaning.
Can you not isolate your smart TV to your router ? Or is it a like a dog on heat and looking to have a “connection “ with any dog (device) in the area?
I am not a believer in the cloud, permanent wi fi connections, consistent Bluetooth connections .. hard wire is fine all day long ?

TV is hot wired to the Router whenever it is turned on.. Virgin boxes dont like being switched off. TV needs to go online to enable streaming services - Prime, netflx, pornhub etc... So no options.

Good suggestion.. read the blurb.. the book can wait
