And honestly, he looks like a total plum.

That's been about for years. I saw that when I applied for my patent.
It's different from the V-Easy as it's bolted to the putter shaft whereas the putter is held in place by the hands/hinge on the V-Easy...far superior product

Another V-Easy owner here, I remember buying it years ago. Unfortunately it snapped, but can still be used for an alignment stick!

Any suggestions on a replacement or bodge repair?

That was the problem with them, the rubber hinge degraded.
Try some electrical tape, it doesn't have to be that strong

Sadly, the company who made the V-Easy for me went bust about late 2012.
They tried to make wedges that were better than Vokeys, that didn't end well.
