Toms on fire

How well is David Toms playing....??

2 rounds of 62 in the current Tour event.
Great form in the run up to the US Open.

Phew, that's a relief, saw the headline and thought sat navs were spontaneously combusting :D

He is in cracking form and that's a great response to last week's disappointment.

Just looked up his stats for the year
2nd in driving accuracy
2nd in GIRs
He is Mr Accuracy!
Not long though, only 161st for driving distance.

On that basis he may indeed have the game for the US Open, depending on how they set the course up. Don't know too much about the venue (Congressional) but if they cut the fairways narrow and the rough is thick (which is the norm for the USGA) he could well be up there.

hang on.........

Doesn't this prove something..????

Maybe not :D :D

Interesting guy. Just read this on the personal section of his PGA Tour details

"Created the David Toms Foundation in 2003. The foundation helps underprivileged, abused and abandoned children through funding programs that are designed to enhance a child's character, self-esteem and career possibilities. Foundation assisted those displaced by Hurricane Katrina, raising more $1.5 million. Since its inception, the Toms Foundation has made more than $3 million in grants....

Shared the Golf Writers Association of America's 2006 Charlie Bartlett Award with Louisianans Kelly Gibson and Hal Sutton for their combined $2-million plus in aid to Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita victims..."

Sounds like a top bloke.

The pressure of having his own thread on here obviously got to him, he's lost his 7 shot lead in rd 3 after shooting 74. He now trails Charlie Wi by 1
