I tried the 907 d2 with diamana reg and stiff shafts a while back, and though it was great I never got around to buying, I currently use a G10 10.5' stiff, can somebody advise which shaft I should look at, I've heard that as the shaft is a bore through it has a stiffer characteristic than hosel glued shafts. I recently tried the 909 but didn't like it as much, so am looking out for a good 907 d2. That is of course if I can get to hitting the bloody big stick right again. I use titleist 972 irons which are great and want to compliment them with the titleist woods.

I just couldn't find a shaft that works with the 907D2.

Can't see what there is not to like about the 909 though. Much better impact noise to start with.

The 907 is regarded as quite a high spin driver head compared to the 909, so better players didn't like it. All other things being equal, the bore through shaft is stiffer than a blind bore.

Depends which shaft you have in the Ping, but if it is the TFC shaft, that is not very stiff. The Titleist Diamana is also not a real Diamana, and plays softer than aftermarket Blueboard shafts. so it depends a bit on your swing speed and how you hit it. I would say the Titleist R is not too far off the Ping S, and a Titleist S would be stiffer.

Another option is the 905 which is probably a better driver than either, and the 909 not bad either. A 905 with a R V2 would be a nice weapon.

Thanks Ethan, hadn't considered the 905, that's given me even more to think about. Suppose I need to get back to hitting the big stick right before investigating further.

You can get all the advice in the world but you won't know which one is for you until you've tried them. :)
