I see this offer is back on and there is the option to get them personalised. Does anyone get anything witty stamped on theirs or seen anything witty on balls they've found?

Where I play there is an extra charge for personalised ones.

I have always used my proshop credit for this deal, bought plain yellow ones and sold them on Ebay after the deal has finished. 4 doz ball would last me for too long when added to my existing stocks.

I keep seeing the deal and getting tempted but then remember I have 7.5 boxes left in my cupboard 🤣 must resist

It’s great marketing as you still feel you need to not to miss out on a free box.
I’ve 3 dozen left I think from the last couple years.

Likewise. I still have the four dozen from two years ago sat in the cupboard. So far I have resisted this year’s offer. I must stay strong.

100%

Fortunately the guy I get my lessons off sells me 4 boxes for £135 (avx) so the £120 they are now makes me not feel I'm missing out too much

I’ve still got 6 sleeves from last year and an open one with 2 left in my bag. I’ve also got 3 sleeves of ProV1 from the dozen I got as part of a lesson plan last year.

I’m not sure if that is enough for the season so I was on the fence but at £150 this year I decided to cheap out and get some from eBay instead. Got 48 “pearl” left dashes for £80, due to arrive today so I’ll report back to what they are like.

Part of the reason for cheaping out is that I’ve just had to pay for my oldest child’s MOT, service and insurance that has set me back £1500. Only thing more expensive than running two cars is running three. 😂

eBay balls arrived and yes they all look like new, spotless until you run your finger around them and the cover feels “sticky” and you can feel scuff marks that have been removed somehow. I went and got a new ball just to make sure I wasn’t imagining it and the new ball cover your finger slides over the cover easily while with these balls there is more friction. I stopped counting at 20 that had scuff marks that you can feel but can’t really see.

I guess they have been mechanically cleaned up somehow and I’m betting the covers on these ones mark up really easily. Might be a false economy if I need to use a new ball after every round.

Did you see the pic on social media a couple of years ago of a Titleist ProV1 that had been refurbished? Under the thin layer of paint you could clearly see the Callaway logo 🤣

Found it

At £55 a dozen I can get the same amount of Seed balls if for £65 less than this deal. Makes me happy to be saving this much for the same performance ☺️

I'm not sure if it's just the way this is worded, but the Titleists are £37.50 a dozen with the deal.

If you compare like for like the saving is £22, or £5.50 a dozen. That's £128 for 4 dozen Seed or £150 for the Titleists. Everyone has a different opinion, for a £65 saving I'd be more likely to consider the seed balls, but for £22 I'm happy to stick with Titleist.

I caved. My pro offered me £115 for 4 boxes lol I now will have 11 boxes of avx plus some sleeves

Never bought a premium ball before.. Mainly cause am mid handicap and have the ability to lose a ball or 2 a round... I don't mind losing my current AD333 balls as reasonably cheap...
Have some credit in the pro shop so thinking of splashing out..
Do you think the AVX or the Pro vs is the way to go? 🤔

It depends what you need

Titliest claim prov 1 suits everyone. IE everyone could benefit from it

Unfortunately I produce far too much spin with driver due to being rather rubbish lol so the avx has the premium stuff of the prov but are low spin with the driver which has helped me keep it in play

Cheers... I have read a bit about them and it was the spin factor of the pro vs that did concern me a little.. I like ( not the correct term as it just happens) a slice with the driver.... The AVX are prob the way to go... 👍

Just worth considering, a ball with more backspin should fly straighter, so I wouldn't assume that because you curve the ball a higher spinning ball will by default be worse.

The best thing would be to try each ball, but failing that, whilst not perfect, you could use this as a starting point - https://www.titleist.com/golf-ball-fitting-tool

Enjoy them. I really like mine since my pro suggested them

He fitted me for a low spin driver and after few months it was going well but get the odd high spinner so he suggested again trying avx (as I had refused before and stuck with ad333) and the difference was instant
