Tigers "Gardening"

I couldnt find any phone numbers for Masters or Sky Golf, so have emailed Augusta and asked them to look at it on video. Doubt anything will come of it of course, but if the top golfer in the world cant be bothered to play to the rules then why should anyone else?

Think he was just tapping down a pitchmark he'd repaired which he was perfectly entitled to do, but watching him (and Westwood) putt yesterday, they both needed all the help they could get!

Jezz I didnt see TW repair any pitch mark - he replaced his ball and then walked forward and pressed down with his putter on the green

he didnt just tap down 1 or 2 spots he tapped down a spot and moved forward tapping down for a considerable distance

and if its a pitch mark you obviously lift it with a pitch mark repairer first as its a depression

which I didnt see him do and the camera was on him for quite a while & continuously from when he replaced his ball

even the commentators (BBC -so believe it was Peter Aliss) made the "gardening" comment

maybe there was other footage of him lifting a pitchmark but from the footage shown on BBC it looked as if it was a breach of rule 16-1a Touching the line of putt

maybe becasue it was late i didnt see it as i think &
like ive said previously im not a fan of retrospective punishments

& just playing devils advocate as someone said

No way is he going to get pulled up about it

but this was quite openly seen in coverage & makes me question whether officials just didnt want to penalize their "poster boy"
(im in no way saying that IS the case)

when did u ever see him miss a short putt like he did at 11th !he used to knock them in with his eyes shut definately has the `shakes` ....belly putter soon i reckon..can`t understand why 18 months ago he was the best `par` putter on the planet to totally average , something just doesn`t add up ...all the `insiders` know the reason but are to scared to say !!!

Pretty sure he had the pitchmark tool out when I was watching (although I was nodding off intermittently) and I'm 100% sure if he had been in breach of a rule in full view of millions of golf fans he would have been penalised, Tiger or not!

Either way, looking forward to Rory finishing the job off tonight if I can just stay awake

ah ok im wrong

i'll shurrup then :o

i thought it was a little more then just pitchmarks

Strange his putt was on his partners Choi's line, and he didn't see the pichmark from eight feet away, and need to repair. If its not an obvious pitchmark don't they ask their partner first before gardening ? I thought it was strange, when watching on Sky but didn't hear any comments on the commentary.

My my,a Tiger bashing thread, how unique.

As Jezz says it was plainly obvious that he repaired a pitchmark.

Doesn't matter who it was, would have thought the same. Perhaps Choi just couldn't see such an obvious pitchmark right on his line, a few feet away. Didn't realise Tiger was above any form of negative comment all of a sudden, or is this a forum rule ?

It was nice to see that he was on screen when he was actually in contention, rather than when he was an also ran.
